The world-famous melodies of the great Italian composer and maestro Ennio Morricone from films such as Cinema Paradiso, The Mission, A Fistful of Dollars, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, Malena, Once Upon a Time in the West, Sacco and Vanzetti, Once Upon a Time in America and many more take center stage in this concert with the all-female orchestra from Italy LE MUSE, featuring the unique soprano and Morricone’s longtime diva Susanna Rigacci, who accompanied him in his concerts for over 20 years. 🎼🎥
Alongside the performance of some of the most iconic film soundtracks in history, images and scenes from films by Sergio Leone, Federico Fellini, Giuseppe Tornatore, and Francis Ford Coppola will be projected, accompanied by a brief narration about the life and work of Ennio Morricone, creating an unforgettable experience. 🎞️✨
This tribute was first presented in 2016, after Ennio Morricone was awarded an Oscar, and received the High Patronage of the President of the Italian Republic as the most representative homage to the great composer. It has since been presented in many countries across Europe, as well as in the Americas and Asia (Los Angeles, Bangkok, San Francisco, New Delhi, Rabat, Mumbai, Toronto, and more). 🌍🏆
Ennio Morricone, the Italian composer and maestro who captivated the world with his music, won two Oscars, three Grammys, four Golden Globes, two European Film Awards – Golden Lions, and many more throughout his career, with over 70 million records sold worldwide. His compositions have inspired generations and span multiple musical genres, establishing him as the most important film score composer of all time. 🎶🎬
The symphonic ensemble Le Muse from Italy is composed exclusively of female musicians, most of whom come from the famous Rondo Veneziano Orchestra. Beyond their extensive classical music experience, they bring a special sensitivity and instinct to interpreting Morricone’s compositions, known for their precision and cinematic expressiveness. The orchestra features the outstanding soprano Daniela Placci, and Andrea Albertini, pianist, founder of the orchestra, and maestro. 🎻✨
✨ The concert is conducted by the distinguished chief conductor of the Volos Symphony Orchestra, Ioakeim Baltzavias.
