The musical project Voices of the Wind brings together contemporary music, ancient vocal traditions, and a unique sonic universe inspired by the wind and the breath, where sound moves freely, like the wind itself, beyond borders, cultures, and musical genres. 🌬️✨
Its creator, composer Petar Dundakov, combines his own compositions with selected works from the world repertoire, together with the unique presence of Lisa Gerrard and her distinctive contralto voice. 🎙️ Known as a founding member of the influential group Dead Can Dance, she has built an outstanding solo career spanning world music, experimental music, and film scores, where she became widely known for her collaboration with Hans Zimmer and the soundtrack of the film Gladiator, for which she received a Golden Globe Award. 🏆
As a special guest of the project, the well-known to Greek audiences trio The Italian Tenors joins the performance, masterfully blending Italian songs, beloved arias, and famous pop hits. 🎶
Also participating is soprano Gergana Dimitrova, soloist of The Mystery of the Bulgarian Voices, widely recognized for her distinctive and expressive voice. 🎼
The Sofia Soloists Chamber Orchestra, under the musical direction of maestro and pianist Plamen Dzhurov, is a distinguished string orchestra that has held a central place in Bulgaria’s cultural life for many years, with tours across Europe, America, and Asia. 🌍
Petar Dundakov has composed music for more than 35 films, including Arcadia, the official Greek submission for the 2026 Academy Awards, for which he received a nomination for Best Original Score at the Hellenic Film Academy Awards. 🎬
He is also the composer and producer of the award-winning album of The Mystery of the Bulgarian Voices, featuring Lisa Gerrard and BooCheeMish, which has been presented in major European venues such as the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London. 🎻
